UNNO gallery will showcase “Ciudad Perdida”, Lost city during Miart 2021, as part of the Emergent fair section.
Unno gallery, the first Latin American collectible design digital gallery, founded by Laura Abe Vettorettiand Maria Dolores Uribe from Mexico, is focused on presenting a new generation of Latin artists and designers who pay homage to their origins with a coarse contemporary visual language that creates a connection between time, space, and art, leading to pieces that speak of spatial and everlasting memories; historical tremors. Unno Gallery chose Miart as their second physical fair during Milan Design week frame, after exhibiting during the summer in Nomad Circle St. Moritz. Resulting into a warm welcome from international collectors, art advisors, architects, and the whole design community speaking about Unno Gallery as “fresh air from abroad”.
Unno gallery will present a design utopia, a selection of works that construct a “Ciudad Perdida”, “LostCity. The exhibition is a time superposition narrative about the fact that Mexico City has constructed on top of a lake before the Spaniard intervention and contrast with a young artists philosophy of what Aztec contemporary city design elements would exist today if Meso America wasn’t colonized. Through a wall art map installation, the ancient lake city super-positioned with contemporary key elements of the cosmopolitan city, the fair booth will be transformed into an experience of discovering a lost Meso-American metropolis."Through 'Ciudad Perdida', or 'Lost City', we will address the transformation of Pre-columbian symbols found in our ancient cities and imagine what could have been the main design elements of an uncolonized contemporary Mesoamerican metropolis," share Laura Abe Vettoretti and Maria Dolores of Unno.
The showcase includes a new body of works by C.S. Nuñez , “Altar Tequitqui” an altar shelve, “Quemador de Aceite” an oil burner “La Ciudad del Lago” triptych and a new piece by recently launched DeceresStudio, “Runa” a sculptural vase, also presenting “Talara” sculptural jade side table by the collaboration between the founders Maria Dolores and Abe Vettoretti.
