Luxury brand for professional-grade home appliances, Gaggenau, unveiled its immersive ‘A Statement of Form’ installation at Villa Necchi Campiglio at Milan, and online. The brand brought to the Milan Design Week 2022 live talks on contemporary design and architecture featuring special guest speakers. Designer Søren Rose, BIG's director of interiors Francesca Portesine and Foster + Partners' head of industrial design Mike Holland shed light upon sustainability and longevity in design. Andrea Molteni, Dada's director of product development, alongside George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, co-founders of Yabu Pushelberg, delve into kitchen design. “This week is the culmination of hard work from many of our trusted partners and people we respect and admire to help us showcase the best of Gaggenau in Milan,” says Dr Peter Goetz, Managing Director of Gaggenau. “We hope to share the ‘A Statement of Form’ experience with as many people around the world via our virtual events and to welcome visitors from Fuorisalone, Salone del Mobile, and EuroCucina to our immersive, engaging design space,” he adds.
To breathe into ‘A Statement of Form’ project to life, Gaggenau collaborates with an exciting array of craftspeople including German architects, 1zu33, Italian natural stone specialists, Salvatori, and ceramic tiles producer, Kaufmann Keramik. Materialising a culinary adventure that brings haute cuisine to life within the installation is German three Michelin star Restaurant Überfahrt chef and long-time Gaggenau collaborator, Christian Jürgens. Also present within the installation, are Spanish designers, Xavier Mañosa from Apparatu, and winemaker, Elías López Montero of Verum Wines, the receivers of the Respected by Gaggenau award, alongside Italian organic pork farmers and suppliers of Salumi Bettella, Azienda Agricola Bettella.
The ‘A Statement of Form’ spreads across 360 square metres, creating a structure that is a platform for the key elements that constitute Gaggenau’s promise and purpose. It is an amalgamation of form and function with high quality appliances and culinary excellence at its core. Visitors meander through the installation and immerse themselves into the different sections that highlight Gaggenau’s key specialist areas, including cooking precision from raw ingredients to cuisine, balance and tension, heritage and craftsmanship through to progressive advancement, the significance of materiality, the relationship between cooling and heat, objet d’art within technical perfection, and the home as the entertaining space of the future. With 'A Statement of Form', everything that contributes to creating and complementing a Gaggenau appliance is stripped down and deconstructed.
Gaggenau’s ‘A Statement of Form’ will be on display during Milan Design Week, 7th - 11th June 2022, at Villa Necchi Campiglio, Milan.
