200Grs. X Carwan Gallery
200Grs. With A Twist, is a special rendition of the series for Carwan Gallery. The architects chose to purposely reinstate a relationship with wood, dismissing the ‘trend’ that they’ve set for themselves by making use of their off-fall wood pieces, not to erase any guilt from production, but rather to further their initial intentions and approach to the products and their making.
The sculptural architectural vocabulary is expressed more boldly on a larger scale; well perceived through the manipulation of clean geometric forms and the balanced visual composition of wood and brass.
Fitting into a larger discourse of thought that has been present in both creators’ work, 200Grs. showcases functional, sober, candid, and sometimes bold architectural items all the while dealing with concepts of materiality, elasticity, tensions, and balance.
The objects are appropriated by their users in various ways, opening the door to multiple interpretations and their reinvented use. 200Grs. embodies a discourse between its creators and its end users through relatable objects. The carefully formulated approach to design and making allows for the end product to create unique ergonomic and personal relationships with its future owners.
