Vetrite Gem Glass
The timeless beauty of precious stones, volcanic rocks and lunar landscapes in 38 suggestions generate enchanting chiaroscuro thanks to the alternation of light transparencies and powerful colours.
Technical advantages:
The Opalescence - With Vetrite it’s possible to create backlighted decorations or with a see-through effect, even with a gradient. Other materials such as marble, granite or ceramic do not have these characteristics except in rare exceptions and with high costs. Materials with the same transparency are plastics such as Polymethylmethacrylate (Plexiglass) and Polycarbonate, which however have less resistance to high temperatures, scratches, fire, stains, chemicals and atmospheric events.
Controlled transparency - The slab presents a gradient, from completely opaque to completely transparent.
Curved slabs - Vetrite can be curved, to obtain double-sided curved slabs. Available in different curves, with an arrow up to 20 cm. Possibility of curvature, Opalescent, Shock resistant, Double-sided.
Safety - Consumer safety: Vetrite is a safety glass and is certified according to the main International and American standards for impact and shatterproof tests. Vetrite can be tempered to offer greater strength, Safety for transformers and installers: The European directive 2398/2017 inserts crystalline silica, present in trace amounts in all natural stones and minerals, as a carcinogen. The processing in the factory and/or construction site of these materials that produce dust exposes workers to the risk of inhaling it. As a glass, Vetrite contains silica only in the amorphous and non-crystalline phases. The absence of crystalline silica has been certified by the Ceramic Center.
Antimicrobial and Antibacterial - Due to its properties, glass is an easily cleanable and therefore highly hygienic material. Vetrite glass slabs contain anatase, one of the tetragonal phases of titanium dioxide TiO2. This substance, in the presence of UV rays, is known to produce photocatalytic activity. The photocatalytic activity, the subject of numerous research and development programs all over the world, allows the achievement of some special properties, including self-cleaning, the removal of some pollutants from the air and self-disinfection of bacterial contaminants and moulds.
Sustainability: Vetrite is made up of over 90% of glass, a completely recyclable material. This characteristic is not attributable to ceramic materials.
